The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks is an eye-opening look at modern science and how the cancer cells of one unfortunate woman led to many of medicine's greatest achievements.  The lack of ethics many of the scientists had in the 40's and 50's is pretty appalling, and how they basically stole her cells. I found the story line of the author trying to make contact with Henrietta's family to be a bit tedious, but overall it was an interesting book.
