Urban Bestiary by Lyanda Lynn Haupt

The "everyday wild" in our backyards are all those feathered, furred, and other creatures we co-exist with on a daily basis.  If you want to find out what coyotes, moles, sparrows, crows are doing, you would be interested in this book.
Crows in particular are extremely interesting corvids.  They have great intelligence, family dynamics, and marvelous communication.  To listen to their conversations is to know what's going on in your neighborhood!
The charming chicadee is a delightful chapter, as perky as this small feathered being.
There is a chapter on trees also, and one on humans.  Sadly the humans are hardly as interesting as the opossum!
